Yahoo Pipes Mashups
Using Yahoo Pipes, you can easily create a mashup of available RSS feeds, and customize it to retrieve relevant data. In the pipe below, I've used the public calendar for upcoming Interaction Design events, along with a location extractor that maps the feeds onto a google map.

SVG+Javascript Color Picker
A demo using javascript to dynamically change SVG path fills...

SVG viewer plugin needed for Internet Explorer. Any recent Firefox browser should have native SVG support.

While I am not an SVG guru by any measure, I was able to put together a small demo showing how you might use javascript to dynamically control elements within a SVG file. In the demo (new window) you'll see:

• A drop down list control which selects an SVG path
• A Yahoo color picker widget controlling the fill color of the selected SVG path
• An example .svg file which is reading the color value from the color picker, and populating the selected path with the current fill color

Charley Harper imitation
One of my favorite artists, Charley Harper, was a master of stylized wildlife illustration. His works distilled nature to its most basic and geometric shapes, but still somehow managed to inject motion, and life into his art.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I decided to try to recreate a couple of Mr. Harper's works using Illustrator.
